(KurtNimmo) – Following Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs’ ungracious comments about the “professional left,” the usual suspects mounted the corporate media and began venting about the Obama administration.
One such luminary was filmmaker Michael Moore. Mike told Keith Olbermann at MSNBC that the so-called left wants to seize the banks and throw out the bums but the Obama administration simply will not listen. Mike’s naiveté — more likely his mendacity, since he did not roll off the turnip truck last week — will undoubtedly stir the righteous indignation of so-called progressives. In fact, it is designed to do so. Continue reading →
(PaulWatson) – Administration spokesman Robert Gibbs’ angry retort that left-wing critics of President Obama ought to be “drug tested” because they are “crazy” marks a crucial benchmark in the accelerating evisceration of Obama’s public support, even amongst liberals who, having exalted Obama as some kind of savior, are now realizing that he is merely a servant to the banking elite.
Gibbs’ meltdown occurred during an interview with The Hill newspaper, in which he slammed the “professional left” for criticizing Obama for failing to live up to his ideological promises.
“I hear these people saying he’s like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested,” Gibbs said. “I mean, it’s crazy.”
While some of the criticism coming from the left is undoubtedly over side-issues like gay marriage or gays in the military, much of it centers around Obama’s continuation and indeed intensification of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as his failure to close Guantanamo Bay, in addition to his cosying up to Wall Street while abandoning Main Street as the economic decline worsens. (NYDailyNews) – President Obama’s top spokesman admitted Sunday there’s “no doubt” Democrats could lose their grip over the House of Representatives in this fall’s elections.
“I think there is no doubt there are enough seats in play – that could cause Republicans to gain control. There’s no doubt about that,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
The talking point from the always-scripted Gibbs seemed calculated to scare swing voters and fire up the party’s somewhat dispirited grass-roots activist base for the fall campaign by raising the specter that the political right could seize the House. Republicans also stand to chip away at the Democrats’ 59-seat Senate majority. Continue reading →
(Yahoo) – A new bill that would permit the State Department to strip Americans of their citizenship if they support terror networks has drawn a cool reaction from the White House, even as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appeared to embrace the measure.
“I have not heard anybody inside the administration that’s been supportive of that idea,” White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters Thursday.
But Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the administration would take “a hard look” at the measure, the New York Times reported. “United States citizenship is a privilege,” she told the Times. “It is not a right. People who are serving foreign powers — or in this case, foreign terrorists — are clearly in violation, in my personal opinion, of that oath which they swore when they became citizens.”
The proposed Terrorist Expatriation Act, introduced by Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) and Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.), seeks to update a federal statue that outlines seven infractions that can result in Americans losing their citizenship. The measure would add to the list “actively engaging in hostilities against the United States or its allies” and “providing material support or resources” to a federally designated terrorist organization. WE SHOULD BE AFRAID OF WHAT THEY WANT BECAUSE WHAT THEY’VE GOT HAS DESTROYED THIS COUNTRY
(HuffingtonPost) – The White House is beginning its final push on health care this week, with senior adviser David Axelrod and press secretary Robert Gibbs making the rounds of the Sunday talk shows to express confidence that the bill will pass.
“We’ll have the votes when the House votes, I think, within the next week,” Gibbs said on “Fox News Sunday.” “Whoever sits here at this time next week, I think will not be talking about health care as a proposal, but as the law of the land.” – Video Link Here
President Barack Obama declared the swine flu outbreak a national emergency, giving his health chief the power to let hospitals move emergency rooms offsite to speed treatment and protect noninfected patients.
