Another Senate Charade – Matt Taibbi

(RollingStone) – This note comes courtesy of my friend David Sirota out in Colorado. This is a classic example of how the Senate works. If the public understood better how rigged this game is, and how few issues are actually left to an honest vote in the legislature, I’m pretty sure the pitchfork factor would be twice even what it is now.

The short version of this story: Bernie Sanders had put forth a proposal in the Senate to put a 15 percent cap on credit-card interest. Who isn’t in favor of this kind of legislation? The only difference between credit card companies and loan sharks at this point is that you can choose to not patronize a loan shark. As an adult professional in this country one has to have a credit card – it’s impossible to rent a car, buy a hotel room, shop online or do countless other things without one.

But all the credit card companies use the same insane formulae based on FICO scores to charge exorbitant interest rates for anyone who slips up – and they don’t exactly make it easy to not slip up. (I’m doing research on this subject so anyone who has a particularly egregious story about being ripped off by credit card companies, please write in). Almost everyone has horror stories about consumer credit and my guess is that if put to a national referendum, something like the Sanders 15% cap would pass pretty easily. Continue reading

Government by dicts: my comprehensive resources to prove US fascism and rigged-casino economics

(Examiner) – Fellow Americans: literally for the love of God, it’s time.

It’s time to recognize the overwhelming evidence of unlawful and lie-based US Wars of Aggression, rigged-casino economics, and a complicit corporate media that echoes propaganda for our lying sacks of spin “leaders” who operate above and in contempt of US law.
It’s time to recognize “leadership” of both parties are the Left and Right arms of one oligarchic political body. The proper academic label for this government, not even close to a constitutional repubulic, is fascism.
The US government is run by dicts, as in dictatorship; doing whatever they dictate and unlimited by rule of law.
It’s time to see what’s right in front of us: documentation from government itself brazenly admitting they lord over TRILLIONS of our dollars in investments while cutting essential services and refusing to enact obvious economic solutions. Just a fraction of one percent of these investments restore public services; but our “leaders” hope we’re too stupid to notice and too weak to demand policy that benefits the public rather than the oligarchy. The largest transfer of wealth in human history is happening before us: taxpaying masses being parasitized by banksters. Continue reading

Ahmadinejad Won: The Real Source of Interference in the Iran Elections was the US

A recent article called “Ahmadinejad Won, Get Over It” by Flynt and Hillary Leverett is not the only source with serious credentials offering reasonable, non-sensational explanations for events around Iran’s presidential election. Continue reading

Soros, the CIA, Mossad and the new media destabilization of Iran

It’s the 2009 presidential election in Iran and opposition leader Mir-Houssein Mousavi declares victory hours before the polls close, insuring that any result to the contrary will be called into question. Western media goes into overdrive, fighting with each other to see who can offer the most hyperbolic denunciation of the vote and President Ahmadenijad’s apparent victory (BBC wins by publishing bald-faced lies about the supposed popular uprising which it is later forced to retract). Dennis Kucinich on the Democrats’ Bailout Betrayal

The passing of the $850-billion bailout pulled the plug on the New Deal. The Great Society is now gasping for air, mortally wounded, coughing up blood. It will not recover. It was murdered by the Democratic Party.

We are on our own. And don’t expect any help from Barack Obama and Joe Biden, who lobbied hard for the bill and voted for it. Ignore their rhetoric. Look coldly at the ballots they cast against us. We, as citizens, have only a handful of representatives left in Washington, most of whom were left sputtering in rage and frustration on the House floor. The sad irony is that some of them were Republican.

“This was the largest single act of class warfare in the modern history of this country,” Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, who led the fight in the House against the bailout, told me by phone from Cleveland. “It is a direct attack on the American people’s ability to be able to stabilize their homes and their neighborhoods. This single vote will define the careers of everyone. We are back to taxation without representation, to markets that are openly rigged.” Continue reading

Video: Leaked ‘Simpsons’ clip shows rigged voting machine, then preceeds to Kill Simpson.

Although the cartoon Simpson family did once help Krusty the Clown run for Congress as a Republican with the aid of Fox News, their general learning is clearly towards the Democrats.

In a leaked clip from the upcoming Halloween episode of The Simpsons, Homer declares when faced with an electronic voting machine, “I want to vote for Obama. … It’s time for a change.”
