Mexican Police To Patrol NY?

(AmericanFreePress) – In a series of events which has caused wide notice and a storm of protests, the government of Mexico, through its consulate in New York in the United Nations, has announced it will begin patrolling the New York City borough of Staten Island to “safeguard” its nationals there.

The actions of Mexico come after a series of incidents the Mexican government terms “bias attacks.”

Ironically, these so-called “hate crimes” have been perpetrated by blacks and Asians, indicative of rising tensions between various ethnic groups in the U.S. The Catholic Examiner and NBC New York both reported the Mexican government’s intention to mount surveillance, patrol and police in and around the Staten Island community of Port Richmond, which in recent years has seen a large influx of Mexican illegal immigrants. The Ecstasy of Empire – Paul Craig Roberts

(Infowars) – The United States is running out of time to get its budget and trade deficits under control.  Despite the urgency of the situation, 2010 has been wasted in hype about a non-existent recovery.  As recently as August 2 Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner penned a New York Times column, “Welcome to the Recovery.”

As John Williams (shadowstats.com) has made clear on many occasions, an appearance of recovery was created by over-counting employment and undercounting inflation. Warnings by Williams, Gerald Celente, and myself have gone unheeded, but our warnings recently had echoes from Boston University professor Laurence Kotlikoff and from David Stockman, who excoriated the Republican Party for becoming big-spending Democrats Continue reading

Soldiers to Patrol Bars, Restaurants in New York State

(WWNYTV) – Fort Drum is going to start sending out two person “courtesy patrols” to local bars and restaurants several nights a week. The patrols will target fights, drinking and driving and other misbehavior.

Each “courtesy patrol” will consist of an officer, and a senior non-commissioned officer. Several patrols will operate each Thursday through Sunday from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m., effective immediately.

The patrols will be on the lookout for “things that don’t emulate Army values,” said Julie Cupernall, Fort Drum spokeswoman.

70% in NBC New York poll ‘furious’ at arrival of airport body scanners

(AaronDykes) – NBC New York has reported the announcement that full body scanners will soon descend on JFK, Newark and LaGuardia airports, the major transportation hubs of the New York City metropolitan area.

However, an informal poll on NBC NY’s website shows that more than 70% of its local readers are “furious” at the announcement. Another 3% described their reaction as “sad.” Only 14% demonstrated any support for the measure. The overwhelming negative reaction is all the more telling in the context of NBC NY, an affiliate and very mainstream source that likely draws very typical readers. The response demonstrates a rejection of a technology that many critics say is an invasion of privacy, violates the 4th Amendment and may pose health risks. Continue reading

New York Times Crawled to Obama for Instructions on Wikileaks Docs

(KurtNimmo) – It is not news that the corporate media is a lapdog for the government. It disseminates propaganda, half-truths, and spin for the government. This became apparent prior to the “leak” of classified documents by Wikileaks earlier in the week.

According to Yahoo’s Michael Calderone, the Obama administration was “very pleased with how the New York Times dealt with its semi-exclusive access to the documents,” writes Alex Pareene for Salon. “Times Washington bureau chief Dean Baquet took reporters Mark Mazzetti and Eric Schmitt to the White House last week to brief the administration on what they planned on publishing.
