A Medical Version of the Patriot Act? – Campaign For Liberty

The computerization of personal health care records is one of the showcases of the stimulus. President Obama promised: “We will make the immediate investments necessary to ensure that within five years all of America’s medical records are computerized.” Congress ponied up $19 billion to subsidize doctors and hospitals computerizing patient record and creating electronic health care tracking systems. Video: The Great Geithner Coverup

Economist William K. Black of the University of Missouri appeared in an interview on PBS last week with Bill Moyers. He pulls no punches in spelling out who is really responsible for our current economic disaster, and why our own Treasury Secretary is leading the charge to keep the truth covered up. You Know Things Are Bad When Even Newsweek Is Slamming the Obama Administration for Caving in to the Financial Status Quo

You know things are bad when even one of the most mainstream publications – Newsweek – is slamming the Obama administration for caving to the financial status quo, and sounding the same themes that I and other “alternative” writers have been shouting into the wind about for many months. Death By the Numbers: Pakistan Counts the Toll of the Bush-Obama Drone War

I learned that scientists like what I at the time wanted to become were actually working on projects to make these weapons even more lethal, for example trying to make napalm more sticky so it would burn longer on exposed flesh. Video: The Warren Report – “Liquidate the Banks; Fire the Executives!”

On Tuesday, a congressional panel headed by ex-Harvard law professor Elizabeth Warren released a report on Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner’s handling of the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP). Warren was appointed to lead the five-member Congressional Oversight Panel (COP) in November by Senate majority leader Harry Reid. From the opening paragraph on, the Warren report makes clear that Congress is frustrated with Geithner’s so-called “Financial Rescue Plan” and doesn’t have the foggiest idea of what he is trying to do. Here are the first few lines of “Assessing Treasury’s Strategy: Six Months of TARP”: Continue reading
