Ominous Signs Are Aligned: Not A Particularly Good Sign (11-09)

by Robert Singer

Recall the baffling news events from November 2009?

  • Is Doomsday Coming? Perhaps, but Not in 2012 [1]
  • Survey: Nearly half of adults don’t plan to get H1N1 vaccine
  • Fort Hood attack likely Islamist terrorism, Cornyn and Lieberman say Al-Qaeda still biggest threat to British security, says Gordon Brown
  • Al-Qaeda terrorists being trained in Pak: British PM
  • Governments are now lifting the restrictions and allowing their citizens to buy gold.
  • Backwardation in Gold & Silver – Tuesday 17th November 2009, Silver and mining stocks urge caution, but backwardation says gold’s run could continue…Gold Traders currently have their eye on two non-confirmations that so far have refused to “answer” gold’s push to new all time nominal highs, writes Gene Arensberg in his Got Gold report from Houston for the Gold Newsletter.

The following will help you understand what’s really going on:

Backwardation is The Powers That Be (TPTB) downward manipulating the precious metals and at the same time keeping investors from being wealthy when everyone else is out of work, out of hope and living in tent cities: This is a Neutral Sign. [2]

When TPTP can no longer keep the precious metals from taking off and the dollar from landing at zero, look out, Mad Max and the breakdown of society is around the corner. Continue reading

Video: Is The United States Being Blackmailed Into War On Iran?

There has been talk of war with Iran going back several years now, mostly with Israel initiating and various AIPAC-supported US politicians nodding sagely in agreement. But the fly in the ointment has always been Russia, which is not only actually building Iran’s power station but has a mutual defense contract with its 7th largest trading partner. Martial Law, the Financial Bailout, and War

Paulson’s Financial Bailout

It is becoming clear that the bailout measures of late 2008 may have consequences at least as grave for an open society as the response to 9/11 in 2001. Many members of Congress felt coerced into voting against their inclinations, and the normal procedures for orderly consideration of a bill were dispensed with.

The excuse for bypassing normal legislative procedures was the existence of an emergency. But one of the most reprehensible features of the legislation, that it allowed Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson to permit bailed-out institutions to use public money for exorbitant salaries and bonuses, was inserted by Paulson after the immediate crisis had passed.

Herding Humans For Profit

December 26, 2008 – Basically, the Pentagon and the CIA are working in tandem to force targeted nations like India and Pakistan to accept the decision which has been made to “outsource” the terror war to them and other patsy nations like them. Agency contract hits like the Mumbai attack and bombings in FATA are blamed on “al Qaida” by the government-controlled media in the West and in the media controlled by the “patsy” foreign governments. Biased, hate-based reporting serves to drive patriotic fervor to a frenzied state. The duplicitous leaders in those countries then carry-out America’s will, to set them upon a path to war, in effect, driving their own people into a “kill trap” where unwanted war is forced upon them. This pattern prevails all over the earth, wherever the US has imperial designs. We are all being herded into a global war trap, some call it world war III. Continue reading

Video: Conflict Between Pakistan and India: Realizing RAND’s Plan for World War Three

Alex Jones discusses with Bob Chapman a report by Paul Joseph Watson on the RAND Corporation’s effort to launch a major war.

According to the New York Times, Pakistan has moved troops away from its western border with Afghanistan while India has issued a warning to travelers to avoid Pakistan. “The redeployment came as Indian authorities warned their citizens not to travel to Pakistan given the heightened tensions between the two nations, news agencies reported, particularly since Indian citizens had been arrested there in connection with a bombing in the Pakistani city of Lahore,” the newspaper reports. The Associated Press quoted two Pakistani intelligence officials as saying that the Pakistani Army’s 14th division was being sent to Kasur and Sialkot, near the Indian border, and that around 20,000 troops were being redeployed. End of the year or end of the world (as we know it)?

Before all the Xmas BS gets in the way, an end-of-year essay of sorts is in order, especially so given the bumpy ride capitalism has bestowed on us this past twelve months. And the portents for 2009 look to be even worse as capitalism, desperate to shed over-valued assets, descends into the abyss.

Look at it this way: after the Crash of ‘29 and the launch of the New Deal, it took some six years to engineer the outbreak of WWII, the surefire way of literally burning up surplus capital in awesome quantities.

And if history has any lessons for us, some equivalent global conflagration is now in order. However, is this possible under these new circumstances and over what timescale can such a capitalist catastrophe be engineered? Continue reading

Israel Warns America Yet Again–There’s “Hell To Pay” For Not Attacking Iran

To most, the language appears all-too-familiar and not unlike the childhood story of the “boy who cried wolf”. Indeed, it has all the hallmarks of the typical fear-mongering all have come to know all-too-well in recent years featuring a paranoid Zionist military commander working for a notoriously paranoid nation and warning of the next “holocaust” if everyone does not immediately stop what they are doing, pay strict attention and follow the prescribed course of action as laid down by the Jewish state. Expect the Worst Recession Since WWII

This week we look at a short but excellent summary of the state of the current economic crisis. I always enjoy reading David Rosenberg, the North American economist of Merrill Lynch. He has a no-nonsense style that is refreshing from most mainstream economists. The reality is that things continue to deteriorate. Today’s stock market action shows that we are not of the bear market woods just yet. Rosenberg gives us a few reasons why. Continue reading

America’s Wars of Self-Destruction

November 19, 2008 – War is a poison. It is a poison that nations and groups must at times ingest to ensure their survival. But, like any poison, it can kill you just as surely as the disease it is meant to eradicate. The poison of war courses unchecked through the body politic of the United States. We believe that because we have the capacity to wage war we have the right to wage war. We embrace the dangerous self-delusion that we are on a providential mission to save the rest of the world from itself, to implant our virtues—which we see as superior to all other virtues—on others, and that we have a right to do this by force. This belief has corrupted Republicans and Democrats alike. And if Barack Obama drinks, as it appears he will, the dark elixir of war and imperial power offered to him by the national security state, he will accelerate the downward spiral of the American empire. The Quickening

I have been using the term, the Quickening, to describe the recent series of political, economic, and military events and trends. Events have quicken, or increased in speed, with the trend line most negative in the last month, and this has been global in nature.

I believe that the time period from 9/11/01 (the false flag attack on America) to 9/11/08 was the Biblical Seven Year Tribulation. Continue reading

Protocols for Economic Collapse In America

“Everybody knows that the dice are loaded. Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed. Everybody knows the war is over. Everybody knows the good guys lost. Everybody knows the fight was fixed. The poor stay poor, the rich get rich. That’s how it goes, Everybody knows” -Leonard Cohen

And this is how the U.S. Treasury would handle an economic collapse. It’s called the 6900 series of protocols. It would start with declaring a force majeure, which would immediately be interpreted by the marketplaces as a de facto repudiation of debt. Then the SEC and the various regulatory exchanges would anticipate the market’s decline, hour by hour — when Japan’s markets opened the next day, what would happen when the European markets, and all the inter- linkages of the global markets. On the second day, US Special Forces would be dropped in by parachute in the cities where the twelve Federal Reserve district banks are located. Continue reading

Iranian president blames US for market collapse

Iran’s president blamed U.S. military interventions around the world in part for the collapse of global financial markets ahead of his speech Tuesday to the U.N. General Assembly.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also said the campaign against his country’s nuclear program was solely due to the Bush administration “and a couple of their European friends.”

“The U.S. government has made a series of mistakes in the past few decades,” Ahmadinejad said an interview with the Los Angeles Times. “The imposition on the U.S. economy of the years of heavy military engagement and involvement around the world … the war in Iraq, for example. These are heavy costs imposed on the U.S. economy. Continue reading

Propaganda is a Two-Way Street – Iran, Israel and the Looming Threat of War

Friends, Enemies and “Existential” Threats

22/09/08 “ICH” — – In the ceaseless and invariably bellicose calls for war against Iran (both open and clandestine) flooding the op-ed pages, perhaps one argument invoked by pro-war pundits and politicians stands out and takes pride of place above all others: Iran, it is claimed, “poses an existential threat to the state of Israel”. It’s certainly been a favorite of Republican presidential nominee, John McCain. Furthermore, Sarah Palin, McCain’s running mate, when asked as to America’s response in the advent of a unilateral Israeli military strike against Iran, repeated an astounding three times the AIPAC-by-rote reply: “I don’t think that we should second guess the measures that Israel has to take to defend themselves and for their security.” Continue reading

MSM: Military intelligence – Iran halfway to first nuclear bomb

Iran is halfway to a nuclear bomb, and Hizbullah, Hamas and Syria are using this period of relative calm to significantly rearm, Brig.-Gen. Yossi Baidatz, the Military Intelligence’s head of research, told the cabinet Sunday during a particularly gloomy briefing on the threats facing the country. Continue reading
