Video: Zionist Lobby Paid Off U.S. Journalists To Sell Israeli Foreign Policy

(PaulWatson) – Newly declassified documents highlighting how the Israeli lobby routinely paid off journalists in the U.S. corporate media to write pro-Zionist propaganda in support of Israeli aggression against Palestine and Iran during the 60’s have taken on new significance after the Atlantic Monthly, which is named in the documents as being complicit in the bribing scandal, recently published a cover story hyping the necessity and inevitability of an Israeli attack on Iran.

“Declassified files from a Senate investigation into Israeli-funded covert public relations and lobbying activity in the United States were released by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) on July 23rd, 2010. The subpoenaed documents reveal Israel’s clandestine programs for “cultivation of editors,” the “stimulation and placement of suitable articles in the major consumer magazines” as well as U.S. reporting about sensitive subjects such as the Dimona nuclear weapons facility,” reports the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy.

The documents make specific reference to The Atlantic Monthly publication, and how “arrangements” are made with The Atlantic to publish articles sympathetic to Israel and hostile to Palestine and Iran. Continue reading

Video: Change That’s Not – ‘Obama On Bush Route’ – John Pilger

(RussiaToday) – John Pilger: Wikileaks Should Teach Journalists to Question ‘Official Statements’, US Foreign Policy

Recent sanctions against Iran are an attempt by the US to return the country to its sphere of influence, claims veteran journalist John Pilger. “Iran was a pillar of the American empire in the Middle East. That was swept away in 1979 by the Islamic revolution, and it has been American foreign policy to get that back,” he said. “It has absolutely nothing to do with so-called nuclear weapons.

The nuclear power in the Middle East is the fourth biggest military power in the world and that is Israel. It has something like 500 or more nuclear warheads. It is never discussed.” Pilger added that Barack Obama has failed to change the trajectory of US foreign policy and following George W. Bush’s line. “For the first time in US presidential history — it has not happened before — a president has taken the entire defense department bureaucracy, and the Secretary of State for Defense, from a previous discredited administration. We have basically Robert Gates and the same generals running American foreign policy with a lot of help from people of like mind.” Continue reading

‘US main sponsor of terrorism’

(PressTV) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman says the US is the main sponsor of terrorism and that it tries to cover up this fact by leveling accusations against other countries.

The US State Department in its annual report released on Aug. 5, 2010 accused Iran of supporting terrorism.

Ramin Mehmanparast on Monday rejected the State Department report and said, “Examples of US actions show that this country has been the biggest sponsor of terrorism over the past three decades but by leveling baseless accusations against other states it attempts to cover up its own actions.” Continue reading

Ahmadinejad slams West’s instrumental use of media

(TehranTimes) – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad slams the West for its instrumental use of media with the aim to dominate the world.

The president made the remarks in a Saturday speech to mark the ‘Reporters’ Day’.

August 8 (Mordad 17 in the Iranian calendar) is named the Reporter’s Day marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of IRNA correspondent Mahmoud Saremi in Afghanistan in 1998 when Taliban fighters occupied the Iranian consulate in Mazari Sharif.

“Western media have always portrayed justice-seeking nations as weak and inefficient while showing the bullying powers as freedom-seeking and pro-democratic,” Ahmadinejad stated.

The West is using media as a psychological warfare tool against other countries, the president noted.

Ahmadinejad cited the Palestine issue as a concrete example in which Western media try to manipulate realities on the ground.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ahmadinejad noted that there is no obstacle in the way of Iranians livings abroad to return back to the country.

The president also called on organizations which have filed lawsuits against certain reporters to withdraw their complaints. – Source: Tehran Times

Iran’s president: US a global ‘dictatorship’

Ahmadinejad made the comments Wednesday night during a speech at the Iranian Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital. He is in Nigeria for a summit of an organization known as the D-8, or the Developing Eight nations.

In full, Ahmadinejad says the U.S. is “the self-proclaimed leader, and everybody should know that a self-proclaimed leadership is (a) dictatorship. I am going to say, on behalf of you, that the years of dictatorship are over.”

(GlobalResearch) – Did 9/11 Justify the War in Afghanistan? – Prof. David Ray Griffin

There are many questions to ask about the war in Afghanistan. One that has been widely asked is whether it will turn out to be “Obama’s Vietnam.” This question implies another: Is this war winnable, or is it destined to be a quagmire, like Vietnam? These questions are motivated in part by the widespread agreement that the Afghan government, under Hamid Karzai, is at least as corrupt and incompetent as the government the United States tried to prop up in South Vietnam for 20 years. To keep some out. To fence others in. To police movement, instill fear, uncertainty, and instability. Palestine is a land cross-hashed with separation barriers, walls, fences and checkpoints. For many people, these structures make one either an exile or a prisoner, barred from returning or unable to leave. But in addition to the policing of movement, these mechanisms correspond to a policing of information, a control of what truths are able to travel beyond the borders of these territories, to reach the world outside. Regime Change 2.0

(PoliticalTheatrics) – The US Department of The Treasury has kindly decided to relax export controls related to technology for Iranian web users. The amendments will allow Internet users in Iran to download software related to communications, such as instant messaging and chat clients, and tools related to social networking. They will also permit the export of the same types of software to Iran.

Deputy Treasury Secretary Neal Wolin opines that this is “consistent with the administration’s deep commitment to the universal rights of all the world’s citizens”. How touching, but apparently this noble respect for individual freedom doesn’t apply to the administration’s own citizens.

It doesn’t take a genius to see the real motives behind the Treasury Department’s cynical move. During the 2009 Presidential Election of Iran, US officials and media outlets unleashed a frenzied volley of fraud allegations at the Iranian government. However, to this day, no credible evidence of vote fraud has surfaced. Continue reading

MSM: First, China. Next: the Great Firewall of… Australia?

(TimeMagazine) – The concept of government-backed web censorship is usually associated with nations where human rights and freedom of speech are routinely curtailed. But if Canberra’s plans for a mandatory Internet filter go ahead, Australia may soon become the first Western democracy to join the ranks of Iran, China and a handful of other nations where access to the Internet is restricted by the state.

Plans for a mandatory Internet filter have been a long-term subject of controversy since they were first announced by Stephen Conroy, the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, in May 2008 as part of an $106 million “cybersafety plan.” The plan’s stated purpose is to protect children when they go online by preventing them from stumbling on illegal material like child pornography. To do this, Conroy’s Ministry has recommended blacking out about 10,000 websites deemed by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) to be so offensive that they are categorized as ‘RC,’ or Refused Classification. (AlJazeera) – Gaza Blockade Illegal: International Committee of the Red Cross

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has described Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip as a violation of the Geneva Conventions and called on the Israeli government to lift it.

In a statement released on Monday, the organisation called the blockade “collective punishment”, a crime under international law. It described Gaza as a territory plagued by frequent power cuts, a ruined economy, and a collapsed health care system.

“The closure imposed on the Gaza Strip is about to enter its fourth year, choking off any real possibility of economic development,” the ICRC said.

“Gazans continue to suffer from unemployment, poverty and warfare, while the quality of Gaza’s health care system has reached an all-time low.”

(Examiner) – Israel video of soldiers attacked on Gaza flotilla an obvious forgery: see video proof for yourself

The Israeli government’s video showing their soldiers being attacked as they descended from helicopters is a forgery; proven irrefutably from the ship’s structural features in the video being visibly different from the actual vessel, the Mavi Marmara. The proof is explained in the below 3-minute video; with this story developing. Additional ship details that prove the Israeli government video forgery are in the second 6-minute video.
As I’ve written, this adds to Israel’s government lies in support of unlawful war; now by creating the world’s largest concentration camp in Gaza, and perhaps soon through war against Iran based all on “emperor has no clothes” obvious lies. Read More Here

(PressTV) – US emboldens Israel to kill Americans

A recent Israeli attack on a convoy of ships in the Mediterranean Sea is another indication that Israel kills Americans with a sense of immunity from prosecution.

Furkan Dogan, a US citizen who lived in Turkey, was killed on May 31 during an Israeli attack on the Freedom Flotilla that carried humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

The attack on the six-ship convoy killed at least 20 peace activists, including nine Turkish citizens on board the M.V. Mavi Marmara, and injured over 40 others.

Ray McGovern, a former analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), in an interview with Press TV, reviewed some other incidents in which Israel “deliberately” had killed Americans without being held accountable by Washington afterwards. Read More Here

This siege has been disgracefully condoned by the “international community” and justified by the “free world” as a measure that safegurads the security of the Israeli regime. Continue reading

Another US missile strike has killed at least 18 people and wounded dozens in a tribal area in northwest Pakistan, officials say.

According to Pakistani security officials, a drone fired six missiles 50 kilometers west of Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan on Friday. They say a house in Bahadar Khel village was the target of the attack.

Almost 1000 Pakistanis have been killed in US drone strikes since 2008.

The issue of civilian casualties has strained the Islamabad-Washington relations.

‘According to Jamal ElShayyal’s account of the raid, the Israeli military had fired on the Mavi Marmara before boarding the ship. “It was evident there was definitely fire from the air, because one of the people who was killed was clearly shot from above — he was shot, the bullet targeted him at the top of his head,” ElShayyal said. “There was also fire coming from the sea as well.” This account differs from the one given by the Israeli military.’ Continue reading

(KurtNimmo) – IDF Retracts Claim al-Qaeda was on Flotilla, Corporate Media Silent

Israel has retracted its absurd claim that al-Qaeda was involved in the Gaza aid flotilla. But don’t expect the corporate media to report this. From Democracy Now:

The Israeli military, meanwhile, has been forced to retract its claim that passengers aboard the flotilla were agents of al-Qaeda. An Israel Defense Forces press release sent out two days after the assault says approximately forty flotilla passengers “are mercenaries belonging to the Al Qaeda terror organization.” The independent journalist Max Blumenthal says both he and an Israeli colleague asked the Israeli military press office to substantiate its claim. No evidence was provided, and one day later the press released was modified. The original headline was changed from “Attackers of the IDF Soldiers Found to be Al Qaeda Mercenaries” to “Attackers of the IDF Soldiers Found Without Identification Papers.” Commenting on the retraction, Blumenthal writes, “The more Israel’s claims about the flotilla’s terrorist links are challenged, the more they fall apart.”

Indeed, the fairy tale may fall apart, but that does not mean the pro-Israeli corporate media has to report the truth. – Source: Infowars

The hegemonic influence of Zionist-Israeli forces over America’s foreign policy, particularly Middle East policy, is a phenomenon without historical precedent. While right-wing radicals, with their focus on patriotism and constitutional values, set off early alarms about this perceived foreign domination, the Left pretty much slept through its insidious ascent to power.
