The United States Remains a British Colony II

(MoneyTeachers) – In our previous article we demonstrated that, through our National Banks, Great Britain was able to receive all of the benefits of occupation without any of the expense. By earning interest on our currency since colonial times, they have managed to enslave an unwitting American populace to their political, economic and global agenda. Read More Here

Don’t Tread On Me: Unifying a Movement

(RestoreTheRepublic) – In the years leading up to the Revolutionary War, thirteen separate and sovereign colonies joined forces to overthrow the oppressive taxation, monetary policy and police state of the distant and detached British kingdom.

“Join or Die” was the famous slogan seen in Benjamin Franklin’s Pennsylvania Gazette in 1754. The image featured a snake cut into eight sections to represent the English colonies. Originally intended to unite the colonies during the French Indian War, the image was later adapted to unite the colonies against the British. Once unified against a common enemy, another familiar image appeared, the image of a coiled snake ready to strike and the words “Don’t Tread on Me”.

In the same spirit, and for the same reasons as the founders of old, 192 cities in 42 states are erecting the “Don’t Tread on Me” banner and gearing up for the next revolution, not by firing bullets but by hosting screenings of the latest film from producers Gary Franchi and William Lewis, “Don’t Tread On Me: Rise of the Republic”. – Continue reading

(CounterPunch) – Did the IDF Execute Mavi Marmara Victims?

You want to know why we need independent journalism, and why those of you who are reading this article need to support the publication in which it is appearing and the article in which it originally appeared? Because if you rely for your news on the US corporate media, whether ad-supported or underwriter-supported, you won’t learn that Furkan Dogan, the 19-year-old American citizen slain by Israeli commandos in the raid on the Gaza-bound flotilla May 31, was shot in the back and in the back of the head, as well as multiple times in the face. The US is at a Precipice – Tim Gatto

(InformationClearingHouse) – We are at a precipice. This is the end of one era and the beginning of another. The “real” world that so many people believe in, here in America is not the world you see on your TV sets, that is the world that the government and the media want you to believe in. We are so accustomed to believing in our own American ideology that we can’t understand the ramifications of what we have done. So many people in this country continue to believe that what we have done can’t be undone. This is the reason we have come to this point. We are not “invincible”. We are not “exceptional”. We must abide by the same financial tenants that rest of the world must obey. We cannot spend above our means. We cannot spend 1.4 Trillion dollars on the military and get nothing back. We cannot give trillions in fiat money to prop up the bankers and financiers on Wall Street. Continue reading

Armed Revolution! Are you “in or out”?

Never in our country’s history have Americans witnessed the travesty of such an anti-constitutional administration and congress. And a great deal of the responsibility falls on both major political parties and the media. However, there are others, including American voters who refuse to intelligently discuss the issues and critically analyze what the administration is doing. As a result, the likelihood of another civil war or second revolution increases with each passing day and each new power-grab by the Obama administration. Continue reading

What is a “Three Percenter”?

During the American Revolution, the active forces in the field against the King’s tyranny never amounted to more than 3% of the colonists. They were in turn actively supported by perhaps 10% of the population. In addition to these revolutionaries were perhaps another 20% who favored their cause but did little or nothing to support it. Another one-third of the population sided with the King (by the end of the war there were actually more Americans fighting FOR the King than there were in the field against him) and the final third took no side, blew with the wind and took what came. The political issues posed by the mass protests in Greece

The World Socialist Web Site solidarizes itself fully with the tens of thousands of students, young people and workers who have taken to the streets of Greek cities in protests, strikes and pitched battles with armed riot police. This mass social struggle, unleashed by the police murder nearly two weeks ago of 15-year-old Alexis Grigoropoulos, is a harbinger of revolutionary upheavals to come, not only in Greece but throughout Europe and around the world.

Underlying its sustained and militant character is the response of millions of working people and youth who are seeing their conditions of life destroyed and their futures stolen by the unfolding of the deepest global capitalist crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s. Continue reading
