Video: Clinton – Administration Will File Suit Over Arizona Immigration Law

(Fox) – Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in an interview with a TV station in Ecuador that the Obama administration “will be bringing” suit against Arizona for its immigration law, though the Justice Department for weeks has said that the issue is under review.

In a clip of the interview posted on a conservative blog, Clinton was asked how the Obama administration was handling the debate over the law.

“President Obama has spoken out against the law because he thinks that the federal government should be determining immigration policy. And the Justice Department, under his direction, will be bringing a lawsuit against the act,” the secretary of state responded, before calling for comprehensive immigration reform.

President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder have both criticized the Arizona law, but the administration has maintained that its attorneys are reviewing the legislation to determine the next step. Full story here.

AstraZeneca Denied Drug’s Link to Diabetes for Years After Admitting Link to Japanese Physicians – Mike Adams

(NaturalNews) – Drug giant AstraZeneca attempted to obscure the connection between one of its blockbuster drugs and diabetes risk for years after it knew of the problem, according to documents recently unsealed as part of lawsuits against the company.

More than 15,000 patients have sought damages from the company, alleging that they were harmed by side effects from its atypical antipsychotic Seroquel. According to the plaintiffs, AstraZeneca deliberately hid information linking the drug to an increased risk of weight gain and diabetes. The lawsuits have been consolidated into a single case for the purpose of pre-trial proceedings.

The recently unsealed documents include notes from a meeting between salesperson Nancy White and a doctor in July 2006, during which the doctor said that his patients were expressing concern about Seroquel’s links to diabetes. White reported telling the doctor that “there has been no causative effect” proven between the drug and the disease. Continue reading

Woman arrested for recording deputy

(SoMDNews) – St. Mary’s sheriff’s deputies responding to a noise complaint last weekend at a Lexington Park neighborhood report that they seized a woman’s cell phone and charged her with illegally recording a conversation.

Yvonne Nicole Shaw, 27, was taken to the St. Mary’s jail after her arrest shortly after midnight Saturday at Colony Square, and a court commissioner ordered that she be released on personal recognizance.

Sheriff’s Cpl. Patrick Handy wrote in a statement of probable cause that he was talking to people in the neighborhood when he and another deputy spotted Shaw standing about 12 feet away and holding her cell phone “in a manner suggesting she was recording our activity.”

Handy seized the cell phone, reviewed its camcorder content and “could hear my voice and the voices of the other subjects I was talking to,” the officer wrote in the charging papers, and he questioned Shaw. Read entire article

Kerry, Lieberman Not Worried Cap-and-Trade Bill Will Hurt Democrats

(CNSNews) – Senators John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) said they are not worried that their cap-and-trade plan might harm fellow Democrats going into the November elections, at a time when voters are more concerned about bread and butter issues such as the economy and the 9.7 percent unemployment rate.

The bill, the American Power Act, was unveiled in May and would establish a nationwide cap-and-trade system that would regulate the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere. In exchange, the bill would also extend various tax subsidies and credits in an attempt to make renewable energy sources relatively affordable.

Cap and trade basically means that a ceiling, a cap, would be placed on certain carbon-emitting manufacturers who would be allowed to exceed that cap if they purchase carbon credits (trade), the proceeds of which would be invested in alternative energy after the government collected a portion of those proceeds. (Some analysts describe the plan as “cap and tax.”) Read entire article

Video: Jon Stewart on Obama

(DailyShow) – Well, President Obama can scratch off appearing on The Daily Show anytime soon. Jon Stewart would be like a shark in bloodied water, hungry to devour his prey. Stewart, a mainstream liberal with lots of respect on the left (and even the right), has turned on Obama for failing to match his anti-Bush rhetoric with anti-Bush action in some of the most controversial parts of national security policy.

Stewart reviews some of these similarities with a genuine outrage that doesn’t appear exaggerated for comedic effect. The denial of habeas corpus to terrorist detainees at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan; continuing rendition; arresting whistleblowers; reconsidering reading Miranda Rights to suspected terrorists; using “state secrets” to stop lawsuits against the government. Tea Party Groups Calls On Sponsors to Drop Hardball

Tea Party Groups Call on Sponsors to Drop Hardball
Matthews’ “Hit Piece” Disparages Tea Party Members

(BeforeItsNews) – June 17, 2010 – The National Tea Party Federation, a broad coalition of Tea Party groups, takes a stand and condemns the left-wing propaganda hit piece that aired on MSNBC June 16th.

The program, Rise of the New Right, was journalism at its worst, and its purpose was to demonize and misrepresent. Chris Matthews used his Hardball program to slander and mislead the American people by distorting facts about the Tea Party Movement. Hardball selectively portrayed groups and individuals in the program in a bad light.

David Webb, co-founder of New York City’s TeaParty365 said, “Chris Matthews is a far left commentator, not a journalist and therefore should not be held to or credited with the same standards.” Continue reading

Microbiologist says human will become extinct within 100 years

(HeraldSun) – We humans are about to be wiped out in a few decades. The grandchildren of many of us will not live to old age.

Hear it from Frank Fenner, emeritus professor of microbiology at the Australian National University and the man who helped eradicate smallpox.

“Homo sapiens will become extinct, perhaps within 100 years,” he told The Australian this week.

“It’s an irreversible situation.” Blame global warming.

But here’s the odd thing. Just three paragraphs into this report announcing the – Oh My God! – end of the world, the reporter and Fenner were off talking about rabbits, Fenner’s writing habits, his bookshelves, his student days, his war service and the weight of the book he wrote on smallpox – 3.5kg, actually. State Sovereignty in the Face of Ruin and Key Principles – Ben Faulkner

As you can see in the writing below, he will bring plenty of knowledge to the table. We look forward to working with Mr. Faulkner in our continued efforts to restore our state’s sovereignty.

(TenthAmendmentCenter) – By all accounts, the past several weeks have been an extraordinarily difficult span of time for the residents of the coastal areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and western Florida. A toxic combination of crude oil along with multiple gasses and chemicals continues to spew unabated into the Gulf of Mexico, the full impact of which is still a giant unknown. Tar balls are washing ashore along the seaboard and crude is oozing into marshes, while fishing has come to grinding halt. Amidst this disaster, a number of troubling stories have begun circulating (some confirmed and some remaining anecdotal) of a media blackout underway along stretches of beach, of troop deployments, of possibly using a tactical nuke to seal the fissure, and of the federal government preventing the impacted States and local communities in some instances from taking the necessary actions to prevent the sludge from making landfall or entering estuaries. Some reports have begun to suggest that scope of this event is several orders of magnitude greater than we are presently being told, a fact which certainly could be a plausible explanation for the effort to tightly control the flow of information from the region. Mayor Admits NAFTA Super-highway Will Run Through Memphis

(MyEyewitnessNews) – Memphis Mayor, A C Wharton is back from Mexico. Wharton went to Mexico, to discuss trade opportunities south of the border. Wharton said as a result of the trip, he has appointed a team to look at how fostering the Mexico-Memphis relationship could create jobs. Wharton said he would like Memphis to be a one stop shop, where Mexican products come in, and get distributed across the United States.

Wharton said Mexican leaders were well versed on what is happening in the Bluff City. “They knew how many Mexicans lived in the area, how much spending power they had, they had studied us,” added Wharton.

Mexico is the United States second largest trade partner. Wharton said when the I-69 International Highway is built from Canada to Mexico it will run through Memphis. “This could become the breaking point. The brains of the I-69 connection, that’s why Memphis is a logical place,” said Wharton. Read entire article

Is Homeland Security Expecting a Major Terror Attack?

Professor: Only Global Governance Can Save Us From A Century Of Chaos

(PaulWatson) – A major event that takes place in 2014 will plunge the world into a crisis that will characterize the rest of the century, according to Cambridge professor Nicholas Boyle, and only the introduction of global governance can save humanity from an era of poverty and violence.

“A ‘Doomsday’ moment will take place in 2014 – and will determine whether the 21st century is full of violence and poverty or will be peaceful and prosperous, according to a Cambridge University professor,” reports the Daily Mail.

“In the last 500 years there has been a cataclysmic ‘Great Event’ of international significance at the start of each century, he claims. Occurring in the middle of the second decade of each century, they include events which sparked wars, religious conflict and brought peace.” Continue reading

Zionist operatives ambushed veteran White House correspondent Helen Thomas, a friend and a great American. When they won, America lost.

When reviewing the unedited video of her “interview,” what you see is a rabbi rephrasing her answers to a question about Israel. Her response: “They should get the hell out of Palestine.“ The United Nations long ago endorsed that stance.

It was not Thomas but the rabbi that offended the Jewish community. Language cited as “anti-Semitic” came not from her but from responses that the rabbi restated as leading questions. She simply spoke the truth: Jewish settlers should leave the occupied territories and, as she rightly said: “go home. Read More Here

Regime Change 2.0

(PoliticalTheatrics) – The US Department of The Treasury has kindly decided to relax export controls related to technology for Iranian web users. The amendments will allow Internet users in Iran to download software related to communications, such as instant messaging and chat clients, and tools related to social networking. They will also permit the export of the same types of software to Iran.

Deputy Treasury Secretary Neal Wolin opines that this is “consistent with the administration’s deep commitment to the universal rights of all the world’s citizens”. How touching, but apparently this noble respect for individual freedom doesn’t apply to the administration’s own citizens.

It doesn’t take a genius to see the real motives behind the Treasury Department’s cynical move. During the 2009 Presidential Election of Iran, US officials and media outlets unleashed a frenzied volley of fraud allegations at the Iranian government. However, to this day, no credible evidence of vote fraud has surfaced. Continue reading

Millions of patients should never be prescribed antidepressants, scientists say

(NaturalNews) – Roughly half the population should never be prescribed antidepressant drugs because they are only likely to become more depressed, according to a new study conducted by researchers from Columbia University and the New York State Psychiatric Institute and published in the journal Neuron.
